My View Matters

Join the movement

Independent Kentucky has been built with the hard work of many wonderful volunteers. We are always looking to expand our message throughout Kentucky. There are more than enough opportunities within the year to show your support and help us increase the awareness of our movement.

Current volunteer opportunities:

Independent Kentucky Development positions

Regional Liaisons - Will be responsible for one or more districts and have the opportunity to organize a large base of voters to benefit the Independent movement.

Community Outreach Coordinator - the primary point of contact between local Independents and Our Movement. They need to be very involved in their community and able to develop the means to bring together the local Independents for meetings and special events.

Kentucky Open Primaries Campaign:

Independent Kentucky is spearheading the commonwealth’s campaign for "Open Primaries". 2009 showed promise with a hearing in a State House subcommittee. 2010 looks to bring more action, we are currently leading the campaign and working to mobilize Kentucky’s base of Independent voters. We have phone bank teams and Street teams. We need volunteers for both. Please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

2010 witnessed our "Semi Open Primary" Bill soar to new heights. Kentucky State Senate passed this monumental legislation and sent it to Kentucky House of Representatives where it meet it's fate in 2009. Democrat Leadership sent Chairman Lewis a message saying an "Semi Open Primary" bill wouldn't be heard in the house. However with the help of volunteers, the House had to pay attention and granted the Hearing. With this major step, we were still severed a cold dish of NO's and sent home.

2011 will be a different story, we are already gearing up for next years fight and still need your help. We are hosting meetings around Kentucky so if you would like to attended one please let us know. If a meeting won't be close to your home then please let us know and we will find a way to bring Independent Kentucky to you!
