Welcome to the home of Kentucky’s Independent voters! Kentucky has a fast growing population of Independent voters. With Independents being 40% of the electorate nationally Independent Kentucky is working to make the same strides in educating independent voters and making sure our movement is heard.

Hello Friends!

Over the last 9 months Independent Kentucky has worked to develop a network reaching all corners of the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. We have partnered with allies, and built coalitions through the hard work and determination of our members and friends. This organization like many others has been built off the hard work and passion of volunteers, and the pockets of the founders for the love of a common cause…Kentucky!!!

Independent Kentucky holds its own sovereignty like any independent organization, but it’s our relationships with other states and active leaders around the country that make us so effective within the movement. Our Friends at Independentvoting.org and CUIP have led Independent organizing for the last 30 years and pioneered the standard for rallying Independent support. This political phenomenon has the nation taking notice, and Independents are taking full advantage of the attention. CNN witnessed our struggles and Independent Kentucky made national news, now we must build off that momentum to sustain our collective voice and bring to light the issues that plague this State’s forward progress.

To move forward we must place one foot in front of the other and identify what we as Kentuckians want. We don’t need to argue over smaller or larger government but demand a more proficient body leading this country and state!

Louisville’s own Justice Louis Brandeis told us that “The most important political office is that of private citizen”. Yet we accept lower standards of elected officials and fail to educate ourselves before we enter the election booth. We have to hold ourselves accountable before politicians are expected to hold themselves to our high standards.

Since the creation of this great country it seems we have always disenfranchised one group or another. What one should realize is “my rights end where yours begin”, no one man or women can supersede another, we are all created equal and our constitution demands the very cause not be taken lightly.

We are a nation of diverse beliefs and ideas; however we must heed our own motto, “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”. We have to move past differences with common sense to find our common cause. I am asking you to act now and become a leader, whether in your neighborhood, town, city, state or this great country of ours. We must act before it is too late, there is a partisan choke hold that is effecting us all…We must decide to join in and allow it, or stand up and change it

Our Futures are out there…
